ADVOCACY

NUCA's Government Affairs Department staff and Government Relations Committee do more than just monitor legislation and regulations -- we influence them, too.

We work with Members of Congress, key Congressional committees, industry coalitions, and rally advocacy support from our passionate membership when important issues require member action.

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to get both educated and involved in the legislative and regulatory issues affecting your business, which is why this NUCA Advocacy Center has all the tools you need. Through these advocacy webpages, you can not only learn more about the issues that matter to your industry and NUCA, but also to take the next step by making your voice heard by easily contacting your legislators.

NUCA's Washington team keeps an eye on Congress' and the regulatory agencies' activities, teams up with coalitions that serve our industry and the business community generally, and rallies support when a threat or an opportunity looms.

From infrastructure investment, safety and regulatory issues to tax, labor, business and healthcare laws, NUCA is always there, keeping members informed through member publications like our monthly NUCA Capital Insider newsletter, or the Government Affairs department's bimonthly column in Utility Contractor magazine..

There are many activities for NUCA members to become more involved in our industry's advocacy and legislative programs. The annual NUCA Washington Summit and quarterly Government Relations Committee meetings offer NUCA members in-depth briefings on the key industry issues and provide training for visits to Congress. Since 1976 our NUCA/PAC has provided support to federal Congressional candidates who support our nation's infrastructure and the American utility construction industry. We want you to be part of our advocacy program--there is an activity for you to make your voice heard in Washington!
