Understanding How to Work in Confined Space
Do you work in or around confined spaces? Get an overview of NUCA’s Confined Space Entry Training course onsite during Utility Expo at the NUCA booth. Training times, course overview, and instructor information listed below.
• Session Times: September 26th 11:00 -11:30 am & 3:00 – 3:30 pm
• Session Times: September 27th 11:00 -11:30 am & 3:00 – 3:30 pm
This safety course will show you how to work in a confined space environment and identify hazards to maximize safety for you and those around you, as well as teach you what you need to know under the OSHA Confined Spaces standard 29 CFR 1910.146.
Topics covered include:
• Defining confined space,
• Classification of confined spaces,
• Identifying hazards associated with confined spaces,
• Eliminating hazards associated with confined spaces,
• Explaining confined space training,
• Demonstrating confined space safety

Brad is the Safety & Workforce Development Coordinator at Cleary Construction Inc. Brad has over 20 years in the utility construction industry in roles ranging from laborer, to superintendent, to his current role ensuring the safety and training of crew members. Brad is an OSHA Competent Person and a NUCA certified Train the Trainer.

Mike has over 20 years of Project Management, Training and Education and Leadership experience. Before joining NUCA in August of 2021, he was Superintendent and Director of Safety for JLG Industries in McConnellsburg, PA. Prior to JLG, Mike served as the Director of Training for the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office in Frederick, MD.
